40 Days for Life begins on September 23 and runs through November 1. It calls us to a deeper awareness of the sanctity and dignity of human life, from conception to natural death. The purpose of the program is to save lives and change hearts, so that all people born and unborn may truly have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The campaign consists of three components: private prayer coupled with fasting, public prayer and vigil, and community outreach and witness. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this program in one or more ways.
Public prayer/vigil will be as follows:
September 23 to October 6 at Caledonia and St. Paul Streets
October 7 to October 20 at La Crosse and Fourth Streets
October 21 to November 1 at South Avenue and Green Bay Streets
There will be sign-up sheets available at the Cathedral after all the Masses on August 29-30 for those interested in participating, or check in your local parishes for signup sheets. A bucket will be available for donations to help defray the costs of brochures, signs and informational materials. Contributions may also be sent to 40 Days for Life at P. O.
